Locating license plates from this country can be a difficult task as the department of Motor Vehicles in Colombia requires that plates be surrendered to the respective issuing offices.

Colombia is divided into 32 departments along with the capital district , SANTA FE DE BOGOTA (also known as BOGOTA, D.C. or Distrito Capital). Passenger car license plates are black on reflective yellow and public service vehicles (Taxi) license plates are black on reflective white.
